Twisted Roots is a mindset, an outlook, a frame of mind. It’s about self-discovery through evaluation on both individual and society levels. How all your experiences, good or bad, have made you who you are today. Nature verse Nurture, the learned verses the inherently known. Following your mind verses following your gut.

We as people are fed what to believe by Society, through media, teachers, parents, and marketing propaganda so that we grow up to be "acceptable members of society" and play the game of life that we never really chose. Who made the rules? Where has our freedom of thought gone? Why do the majority of people place security and acceptance above passion and following their dreams?

Probably because we’re sold on what’s right and what route to go by people as they attempt to further themselves in society. You need a credit card to rent a car; you need the steady job to pay for the credit card; and that steady job robs you of the energy and time that you need to pursue your dreams and passions. It’s no wonder why many people end up trapped in a life with which they’re not happy.

This, my friends, is the Dichotomy of Society.

Twisted Roots is music about dealing with all of this; how our past molds us into the people that we are today, and how we’ll pass it on to others tomorrow.

Know yourself. Be yourself. Dare to dream, and do what’s necessary to accomplish those dreams. Channel your energies into whatever it is that feel, and don’t stop ‘till you’re there. Dare to be different. Follow your gut instincts and listen to your heart as often as you listen to your practical mind. All while being good to each other and not intentionally achieving success at someone else’s expense.

Once you do this, let Serendipity take over. You can’t force what’s not supposed to happen. Things happen when they’re supposed to. Life’s like a Wave or a Rolling Stone. You work hard to get it moving; as the momentum grows, just go with the flow. But maintain balance as you go along, avoiding extremes and anything that immediately dominates your focus.

In closing, "May your dreams become reality, and your reality lead to prosperity".

(It also makes a great drinking toast, which is how I first said it)
